Dear Stitchers,

Can you sew in a straight line?

If so, (…or sew) let us tell you about a unique opportunity to share your skills, and in the process, create an exquisite quilt from bridal gowns. These quilts are then used by Making Memories in our traveling exhibit, or sold to raise funds to grant a final wish to a terminal breast cancer patient. You will very likely find your own joy on this adventure and may shed a few tears, as well. In the end, the results of your labor are guaranteed to bring happiness to individuals suffering from breast cancer and to provide lasting memories for the precious people in their lives.

Making Memory Quilts are constructed from bridal gowns that cannot be resold for one reason or another, such as torn hems, wine stains, or color imperfections resulting from improper storage. Stitchers cut apart accessories, remove embellishments, and transform the fabrics into a queen size quilt top. The stitchers provide the batting and backing fabric then quilt by hand or machine. After binding, the quilt is returned to Making Memories where it will be photographed and ultimately sold or raffled to raise wish-granting funds.

Please help the Making Memories non-profit foundation and make a quilt.

We will be with you…every stitch of the way.
