New Beginnings for Making Memories
and Danielle

When Danielle Gautier’s fiancé, Brendan, learned his favorite aunt had been diagnosed with breast cancer, he and Danielle decided they wanted to do something to try to “make a difference.”  As a starting place, the couple agreed in lieu of the more traditional “guest favors” to make a donation in honor of their treasured guests.

Seeking the appropriate breast cancer fund recipient, Danielle happened upon Making Memories’ Pink Envelope Project website.  She and her fiancé loved the concept of granting last wishes and memory-making events to terminal breast cancer patients through the Pink Envelope Project.  They chose to donate one dollar per guest, for a gift of $250 towards someone’s wish.

Then Danielle decided to take it one step further. She realized what a perfect fit the Pink Envelope Project would be for her girlfriends, who already had an established “Girls Night Out.”  These women have been getting together once a month for many years, working to stay connected, and having a great time in the process.  All but two of them are teachers, making them creative by nature!  They realized long ago the value of friendship and simply decided to make the time for each other.  And they stick to it!!

So – when Danielle checked her calendar for their next scheduled event, she was “tickled pink” to see it was a “recipe night.”   She contacted Terry Hale of Making Memories, author of the Pink Envelope Project.  She enthusiastically told Terry Hale about her group, and ordered her Pink Envelope packet.

Invitations went out, and her girlfriends caught the vision.  They decided to make it a pink night… not only buying different variations of pink material to cover their recipe books, but wearing pink and in general “going for it” and making “pretty in pink” their theme of the evening. Looking at the pictures, you will see they accomplished their goal!

Each of the ladies also contributed what they could afford and put it in a PEP envelope – see photo. They crafted their very colorful recipe books (see photo) and knew that they were all participating in something very unique and special.

Danielle’s “Girls Night Out" is the Pink Envelope Project’s first “official contributor.”  It launches Making Memories’ Pink Envelope Project in exactly the way it was intended…as a small group effort to make a BIG difference in someone’s life and the lives of those who love them.  “This is what it’s all about,” Terry Hale stated. “Danielle’s group got to the heart of the Pink Envelope Project – with flare and enthusiasm, and in the process, they will touch many lives, and no doubt encourage others to do the same.”  We at Making Memories thank Danielle’s Girls Night Out group from the bottom of our hearts….

Carrying their compassion through to her wedding day, Danielle purchased a “pink ribbon” cookie cutter.  At each place setting, guests will find a pink ribbon cookie and a beautiful Pink Envelope Project printed card that notes a donation has been made in their honor…we believe this is a wonderful way to start a wedding day.  And Danielle…congratulations to you and our very best wishes for many, many joyful years ahead.
